Our History
Our beginning can be traced back to 1978 when Doug Henrickson began his career in the financial services industry. Throughout the years, Doug's extensive experience across investments, retirement planning, insurance, and estate planning made him recognize the need for a more comprehensive planning approach. Along with this knowledge and his exposure to the ups and downs of multiple bull and bear markets, it became clearly evident to him that a diversified and unemotional approach to investing was the key to success long term.
In order to provide clients the planning he strongly felt was needed, Doug made the decision to go independent and assemble a team of associates that would work together towards delivering this enhanced service commitment. He formed Henrickson Financial Group with his daughter, Jennifer, in 1999.
By 2005, Doug had built a successful practice providing clients holistic financial planning and investment portfolios based on academic theory rather than forecasts and speculation. In that year, Jeff Nauta joined Doug, further elevating the firm’s expertise and capabilities. In early 2010, Jeff became a partner in the practice and our firm’s name was changed to Henrickson Nauta Wealth Advisors.
